Apple iPod nano 2GB white - MP3 Player

Posted: 1/4/2006

Apple recently introduced the iPod Nano as the successor the the mini - a smaller, compact version of the "full" iPod. The mini broke ground when it first entered the market, a very small player, with good hard drive capacities. The nano takes the idea one step further, by creating an incredibly thin player, that is little bigger than a credit card.

The nano has plenty of advantages over the mini. For starters, it uses Flash memory (the same medium as the iPod Shuffle) rather than a hard drive. As there are no moving components involved, the lifespan of the player is significantly increased. In addition, it has a full colour screen, the quality of which is absolutely superb. The graphics it displays are very crisp, and the animations are very smooth and fluid. The nano also packs in the full features of a 4th generation iPod, including games, a calendar, contact management, etc. Unfortunately, it does lack the video playback capability of the new 5th Generation iPod, although there are rumours flying around the internet that Apple will eventually release an update that will allow the nano to play video files.
