Sony DSLR A700

Published on: electronicsme.com

Old Minolta fans stand by, enter the Sony DSLR A700. With a 12.24 megapixel CMOS sensor, the advanced BIONZ image processing engine, and Super Steady Shot, Sony has brought a viable competitor to the table in the DSLR market. With many new features versus the Sony A100, it may be time to reconsider Sony and take a look at the A700. Full resolution, 5 frames per second continuous shooting, an 11 point center dual cross auto focus sensor, an extremely large 3” LCD screen with a positional sensor in it to rotate as you rotate the camera, and an HDMI output is just the start of many great features on the A700.

Pentax Optio E 50 review

Published on: electronicsme.com

The 8.1 megapixel Pentax Optio E 50 with its 2.4” LCD screen, 3x zoom and multiple picture modes is a basic, point and shoot camera and is great for the casual user who just wants a simple camera to take pictures. Some other features include face detection, shake reduction technology, movie mode and a voice recorder to take notes with. There is also some in-camera framing options for photos; however, they may not be up to everyone’s liking.

Nikon Coolpix S600 review

Published on: electronicsme.com

The hip Nikon Coolpix S600 is great in style and might earn you some ‘oohs!’ and ‘aahs!’ from friends, but it leaves a little to be desired when it comes to the guts of the camera. The 10 megapixel sensor is nice but unfortunately there is not a lot of options to help you utilize it leaving pictures simply looking okay.

On a positive note, its small size makes it extremely portable, there is a large 2.7” LCD screen with decent viewfinder accuracy and vibration reduction to help with blurriness caused by motion. Still there is more to consider before making your purchase, so read on.

Fujifilm FinePix S100fs Review

Published on: electronicsme.com

So is the Fujifilm FinePix S100fs a DSLR? Well, on looks alone, you might think so, but actually, it is not. In saying that though, this is no standard digital camera either. It has many features that many of its counterparts do not such as a real lens with a manual zoom ring, RAW file capture, and a larger sensor.

It has an 11.1 megapixel resolution and a long 14.3x optical zoom and due to its digital camera heritage you can see the live image in the LCD screen unlike with many DSLR counterparts. Other nice features include, face detection with automatic red eye removal, movie mode, preset scene modes, and a tilting 2.5” LCD screen.

Canon PowerShot A590 IS review

Published on: electronicsme.com

Sure there are the sleek looking digital cameras out there, but don’t discount Canon’s PowerShot A590 IS by looks alone. With its 8 megapixel processor and options like face detection, image stabilization and a 4X optical zoom lens, it is a definite competitor in the marketplace.

Considering its nice price point at under $200 (anywhere from $100-$200 from online vendors), multiple exposure and preset scene modes, ease of use for the novice user to advanced commands for the more seasoned user, the A590 performs well and provides a great camera at a very affordable price.

Sony DSLR A350 review

Published on: electronicsme.com

Sony has brought photography to a whole new level with the DSLR A350. From the 14.2 megapixel sensor, to the new Sony Live View mode allowing faster focus times, to the tilting LCD screen, they have taken an already solid performing camera, installed a few upgrades, and have truly given even the most inexperienced of users the best opportunity to take some great shots.

A 14.2 megapixel sensor offers up a resolution topping out at an impressive 4,592 x 3,056 pixels. New technology exclusive to the A350 makes it the only camera on the market to have its Live View auto focus as fast as the Optical Viewfinder. The tilting LCD screen folds almost 45 degrees down and over 90 degrees up, assisting the user on the tough overhead or waist level shots.

Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ18

Published on: electronicsme.com

The Panasonic Lumix FZ 18 is full of surprises for a big digital still camera. In 35mm equivalency, an 18x optical zoom lens is an incredible 28 to 504mm. If you remember the difference between a 35mm and 28mm wide angle in the old 35mm film days, it was an enormous difference.
