Although categorized in the lower spectrum of plasma HDTVs, this mammoth is one of the better-valued models we’ve seen. It lacks several popular ports, but the picture quality and performance is spectacular. You may find better televisions than this one, but for the price, it is incredibly hard to beat. If you are ready to upgrade your home entertainment experience, then consider the 720p Panasonic TC-P42C1.

If you are looking for a high-quality HDTV but don’t want to pay a high price, then the 40-inch Toshiba 40RV525R 1080p LCD HDTV may be the right model for you. Although LCD prices are quickly falling, it is difficult to find a large screen full-HD model for such a great price. The picture isn’t perfect, and there are a few nuisances, but overall this is an excellent entry-level HDTV. If you want a great TV for the price, then consider buying the Toshiba 40RV525R.
